Hieromonk Damaskinos of Xenophontos (born Jaakko Olkinuora) is a member of the monastic brotherhood of the Athonite monastery of Xenophontos and a father-confessor, but also works as a University Lecturer in Systematic Theology and Patristics at the University of Eastern Finland. He is also known for his activities in promoting Byzantine chant in the Finnish language, including translations, recordings, teaching activities, and organising Byzantine divine offices around Finland. Dividing his time between the Holy Mountain and his native Finland, he is also currently building a small monastic settlement in Southern Finland.
